Cultural Shift

Its true that we are moving away from culture of 'Character' to culture of 'Personality'.
Instead of internal beauty people are impressed by external features. By dictionary meaning character means- inherent attributes that determine person's moral and ethical actions and reactions (i.e something that comes from within). And character means personal attractiveness and interestingness that enables one to influence others (i.e. something that is superficial)
Hence now a days number of people following rock stars, actors, charismatic leaders, good looking sales men/women, personality development gurus is increasing exponentially. I am not saying these personalities don't possess any character, but they are not followed because of their character but because of their personality! E.g. Bollywood actors. How many of us follow them because of their value system? If we were, Salmaan Khan wouldn't have had such a great fan following after his hit and run case! If you have a look at the events around us you would realize that this is actually happening. We have started disrespecting values and overrespecting character. The value of values is decreasing day by day.
